Winning 168.290 votes, the pro-European coalition of 4 political parties led by the country's eternal controversial ruler Milo Djukanovic secured a strong majority in this parliament. It received 47 seats out of 76 in the main constituency and 1 of the 5 Albanian, this means a very, very strong majority of 48 seats in a 81-seat parliament. The coalition had won this time an absolute majority of the votes, namely 51.94%, returning to the strength it had more than a decade ago.

This was partially because of the weakness of the disunited opposition, a significant part of which failed to pass the electoral threshold, but also because of the D'Hondt system which is used in Montenegrin elections. These elections were economic-crisis prompted, yet another cunning step by Djukanovic, in the effort to evade troubles of popularity because of the economic crisis, hopefully managing to solve it by the next election in 2013.

Milo's political party has been reigning Montenegro for almost 65 years by now. This is the 8th parliamentary of 15th in total national election in which his party won, under his campaign, remaining never-defeated. Milo Djukanovic has outlived all other former-Yugoslavian leaders and has just celebrated the 20th anniversary of being in power.

Milo Djukanovic has secured his 6th term as Prime Minister, but it remains to be seen if he will take it up. He has been continually Premier since 1991, with the exception of swapping with his parter (now President) in 1998-2002, and the 2006-2008 period, when he placed a puppet (a weak politician in final stage of inoperable cancer) retreating to business after declaring his retirement from politics and seeing how that works out.
