I'd like to be able to help out, but I am not a member of Historum, and to be able to view the photos you posted, one must be a member.

The first one looks a little like Tom Clarke, the Irish revolutionary. I've no idea who the other two are. Very little to go on I'm afraid. OP, any info that might help identify them? Even nationality might do!

The middle photo, in the lower right corner, has the logo "LIFE".  It resembles the logo of "LIFE" the photo-journalism magazine, published for many years by Time, Inc., the company that publishes 'Time' newsmagazine. If it were possible to send these photos to Time, Inc., maybe they have an archive that could determine their origin.

Just one more thing, many of 'LIFE' magazine's photos have been archived by 'GOOGLE'. 'GOOGLE' has an "image search application", though I have no idea how to use it. Good Luck.

It would help if you told us where you found the photos.

OMG!! The search is over! I found them!

I kept googling various possibilities and came across a picture i had previously disregarded, and from there to a website that revealed to me the identity of not 1 but ALL 3 of them!!! (well, two of them are on the same site and the 3rd one was not, but I suppose I got lucky there :)  )

Thanks again to all of you who took the time to read and answer my post, especially so to Knights who helped me make the pictures visible to you in the first place :)

And the faces in the pictures belong to...

1. Ira Davenport
2. John Nevil Maskelyne
3. David Devant

Turns out that all three of them were stage magicians in the 1800's ; Maskelyne and Devant worked together and Maskelyne and the Davenport brothers met as well.

Still, I must admit that Davenport does look like Thomas Clarke!

Again, thank you all for your help in this quest!

Best,
Anthea
