Inspired by a book I was reading ( makes no difference which one) I ask the question: What is the difference between Jesus and Mohammad? not the prophet and the messiah but the men

one was celibate, one had a full sex life
one was born very poor the other quite poor
one was a pacifist the other believed in war
both seem to have been pretty religious
one was a tee-totaller the other enjoyed a drink
one existed the other didn't
they both seemed to like deserts
one was pretty successful in life, the other not so
one had free will, the other a pre-determined destiny
both heard voices in their head and decided it must be god singling them out

Jesus said about the women caught in adultry, to the Jews who wanted to stone her, he who is without sin caste the first stone- of course they all walked away.
Muhammad when dealing with an adultress woman- stone her to death!! Mercy vs. no mercy!!! |

Muhammed had a kick-ass sword with which he dispatched dirty kafirs all day long.

Actually Muhammad was a pacifist until the idol worshipping Meccans started slaying Muslims wholesale, then God allegedly revealed that the Muslims can and should fight back when oppressed. Edited by Zagros - 25-Dec-2007 at 18:11 |

There was mery in the prophet, he delayed the sentance three years and every time she comes and asks for purification. Even when she wanted to escape when the stoning began the prophet ordered that she would be let go but she returned and asked again to be stoned and this time she stood there till she died. She asked for it and no body searched for her.

as per the look
both were white,
The prophet Mohammed's hair and eyes were black color.
Jesus ( Prophet too in Islam) as per Islamic sources had brown reddish hair that looked wet and brown eyes ( not sure about the eyes)
Moses ( Prophet too) was darker in color probably brownish color and black hair and eyes.
also all are considered Prophets in Islam

Sorry to tell you that this story was injected into the text during the middle ages. It was not part of it before that. Too bad; it is one of the better ones ![]() |

Well by what you're implicating then he would have acted against the Meccans before they acted against his followers. And there was plenty of forewarning as to the fate that awaited the Muslims, yet his revelation did not come until they were near destruction and on the run.
Convenience would have been preemption. |

Hmm that is not in the Bible so it must be a Muslim belief. Is it in the Hadith? |

You could be right but it all depends on if it is a liberal or conservative scholar. I am sure both have their arguments to defend their arguments concerning this verse. I took a Bibilcal archaeology course at EWU and of course most of the material was supported by liberal scholars. I really enjoyed the course but I looked at both sides of the arguments. |

This is the only Hadith about stoning married Adulterers. In the Quran, there is nothing about being married or not, all adultrers were flogged, but then, the revelation changed and stoning became the punishment for married adultrers. However, the witnesses of four stayed, it was before the Ifk incident not after it that the condition of four witnesses was required to establish adultry.
The Incident I mentioned above is a very famous hadith, the Ghamidiah (from the tribe of Ghamid, several of them were members of the 9/11 plot and one flew a plain into the Pentagon I think) Hadith. The woman was pregnant from Adultry and the prophet said he will not persue her and he will punish her only if she came. She came three times to be punished and the prophet said she would be rewarded the greatest reward in heaven for her courage and honosty.
PS: sorry, there are actually two other Hadiths but this one is about if one is punished for sin in life will he be punished in heaven and the answer is comlicated to explain here.

I do not see the whole "Muhammad" liked war thing that statement is kind of asinine. Islam has nothing against free will and pre determination in Protestant terms is not a part of Islam |

He actually endured physical harassment on a daily basis. His role as a political leader alongside Qu'ranic approval of self defense allowed for him to partake in warfare that ensured the survival of his community. |

What make you think I was thinking of Islam in the free will statement. A son born to die of the cross seems like pre-determination to me.
However you immediately thought I was thinking of Islam not Christianity. Which is very revealing. It indicates you think there is no free will in Islam..... Interesting, a defender of the faith subcontiously thinks it's less free than Christanity. I'll note that.
