G'day all!

Our Australian members would already be very familiar with the first season of Underbelly, which explores the Melbourne Underworld crime scene during the decade from the mid 90s to 2000s when an escalation in drug trafficking and violence resulted in the deaths of dozens of individuals by organised execution. It was an interesting period to live through, having been in my teens during these years and being able to watch on television the body count climb with the executions reaching their shocking crescendo with the murder of Jason Moran and an associate in front of his two children, niece and nephew while at a childrens' football match.

The series was a runaway success in Australia, but I am curious about whether it had any coverage outside our own country.

Also, does anyone who has seen the series have any comments, criticisms or questions they would like to pose?
It is not the challenges a people face which define who they are, but rather the way in which they respond to those challenges.

Sounds interesting but I wonder if it has been air on US television? It might be possible to see it on PBS but I should explore youtube to see if I can catch a glimpse of this show.
Well then, brothers and fellow citizens and soldiers, remember this in order that your memorial, your fame and freedom will be eternal.

love the series and the current one is pretty good to. I hope they tackle the painter and dockers union power struggle in its own right, at a later time. During the early 70s it was mayhem

I think I might be one of the few Australian's not to see it yet. I missed it when it was on TV cause I don't watch TV and I keep forgetting to grab the DVD's off my dad when I go to his place.
