Janissaries were Bektashis who have been converted to Islam.Also there were turkish janissaries too.

Thank you for sharing with us. I've been playing drums for over 3 years and had no idea that Sabian and Zildjian came from the same "family".

Turks do have a very ancient tradition of metal working and cymbals. My older brother is also a drummer and prefers Bosphorus cymbals.
