Yes, I agree,Infact I  think  differences  between shia  and sunnie  are details.

So instead of joining  two  sect, we should try to stop conflicts  between   two sect.

Both of them have already same core.

Completely agree, that is so sweet from you Mortaza.

to prove your theory I ll give you my family equation:-

My Father is shiite,my Mother is sunnite.

here I am Mortaza.

as well as I am half Arab, half Kurd

1- Can a caliphate be established?

No I don't think so.Because after the mistrust between the muslims,"being less in number but more organized" feeling(being nations instead of ummah) became stronger amongst the muslims.

2- Can it do anything to protect and serve Muslims, and can it bring peace and prosperity to the Muslims?

It DID until 1700s,it lost its efficiency around 1800 and it caused harm to all of the muslims who support caliphate at the beginning of 1900s.

The caliphate is something obsoloted and everyone saw that it brought harm to the muslims, and i think it is futile to dream for the caliphate. (and no offense but cant understand why it is still being supported by some)
