I would consider myself left-leaning on most political issues but even I can see the bureaucracy and stagnation of ideas that comes from having an unlimited term amount in regards to the US congress. The hardship of getting one of the two major parties to support a new candidate in favor of an old favorite adds to corruption and even hinders reform.

I have many more arguments for term limits upon the seats of both houses of congress but I would love to see what you guys have to say on the matter before continuing.

I would agree that to an extent term limits are needed for all politicians.  Term limits would force politicians to do what is in the best interest of those who elected them as opposed to doing that which will keep getting them elected.

By the way, why am I not able to vote in this poll?

How about....

At the end of each year, the unemployment rate is calculated as x%.

x% of all elected politicians, chosen by lot, are required to resign and new representatives who have not held office before are chosen.

x% of all government employees, chosen by lot, are fired, and new employees hired in their place.

That should provide a powerful motive to work to keep the economy healthy rather than the wealthy wealthy.
