This week I read archaeologists have just found for the first time Neanderthaler remains under the North Sea. One may then wonder how muc h is still left for underwater archaeologsits, and how much our ideas about the past of humans may change as research underwaters improve. Since sea levels have changed dramatically(perhaps more than 200 metres, meaning areas as large as continents became "seafloor") it may not be completely unthinkable that once most of "pre-humanity" lived bellow what is todays sea level. Perhaps we will exåperience a very great deal of re-writing of the past(a possible consequence: a view of a more populated stone age earth, and perhaps more diverse cultures than we know about at the moment).
