Good observation BE - this is why....
On the old server I had denied the "Yahoo slurp" webcrawler access to the forum. It could be active with more than 50 bots.
On this server, all webcrawlers have access again - I have just slowed them down to decrease the number of bots.

i just noticed one thing, that the General History forum is listed twice! this used to be in the old server too, or it has nothing to do with servers?

No - its not server related and it only happens for staff members. Just ignore it for now, - there is a chance it will be solved with the next version of the software.

So far, it's definitely speedier than before. That in itself is a great improvement, i guess.

There is one thing I do notice. I have a cookie which takes care I do not have to log on every time, but every now and then I get kicked out and have to re-log-on anyway.

It is not a big thing, and it does not bother me at all, but I find it a bit strange.

No, I use the other one... the loginpage...

But it is not really a problem anyway. Smile

Is it just me or is there a problem with All Empires.com? For the last three days when I try to get to the forum via this route I get the Server Not Found message in Firefox

Yes you are correct. AllEmpires.com is undergoing some problems at the moment. Until that issue is fixed we will be without access to our articles there. Ouch We are doing what we can to re-open that as soon as possible. We shall keep you all posted when we have some more news to share.

eh? Well being that the forums run on it's own web domain (allempires.net) you will remember this and not have that problem in the future in case things get weird again.Wink

I tried everything to get in this site, it wasn't working. The Forum would say done in loading but it'd be a blank white screen until today, and the main website always said there a was an error. I used the search engine and bookmark, didn't work for me...

My condolences. You must have hit that time between the forum elves at sleep and the occasionaly hiccup by the host. Glad to have you with us anyway. Hug

As you most likely have noticed Northman has renovated the look of the forum. New threads are set in bold lettering. The previous icon to the left of each subforum has been replaced with a scroll. A red scroll also reminds you that there is a new post. Another change, the previous Active Topics heading is now written as New Posts.

Hope you like the improvements. The new visual aides help us spot posts a bit easier.
