It's also a question of consent.

Does anyone actually consent to having their IP's sent in?

Just my opinion for all it's worth.

That is one of the real dangers of course but North backed up the forum and will continue to do so daily (or more often ) to insure that we keep the loses to a minimum. Everyone knows to go to SMQ oe talk history for info if suddenly we are not here right?

The other real danger is that they come looking for Seko as he is the only US admin. Like North said they wont be going after and old Dane and I think the RCMP have troubles more pressing than chasing an admin way out in in the canadian sticks.

I say the US have the right to make sure the net is not turning into a weapon against them. We should comply. I can't believe some want to move the site out of the land of the free to put it into the over socialist EU! or even Russia. There is a war going on people! This is not about democracy this is a question of mere survival. So yes, it may be tough, yes it may be unpleasant to put CCTVs in our rooms but frankly why not.
Besides, North you seem to forget that the US have already abducted some EU citizen and set them in their secret jail. So beware. I think on the contrary we should round up some money and send it to the families of those poor civil servant who are going to have to read all the posts of Malizai!

LOL All Right - All Right - All Right !!! LOL

Gents - please check your calendar - special day - eh?
Special treat from the admins - all free of charge! Wink

I think we got you big time, although a few guessed it - Knights and Scorpian first and right away.

However - it wasn't total speculation as I was inspired from this article.

Thanks for all your concern - lets be happy it was nothing but a joke - this time.

Angry
Evil admins, look what you've done. People are writing to their Congressmen and Prime Ministers about this... You made me send a mail to German Chancellor Angela Merkel (President of the European Counsil ATM) and Javier Solana to express my outrage for the fact that sensitive personal information of EU citizens will be at the hands of evil Texans. (ok I didn't use this exact wording, but that was the idea). I asked them to use their power and protect EU citizens' lives. So what, you'll say... Think again:
First, if they take it seriously, I may cause a diplomatic incident...
Second and most important: at the end they'll both think I'm a fool..Ouch

PS1: I also ccd the mail to the Greek PM, but I don't think anybody will read it so no problems there.
PS2: At first I thought that it may be a joke, but then I googled "The bill, dubbed the Safety Act by a republican congressman from Texas" and I got quite a few -perfect match- results. I clicked in a couple of those, saw that the articles were from February and I thought "wow North is actually serious. wtf Seko's life is in danger"!

Seeing as I already pass this information to the Americans on behalf of ASIO, I figured this was a joke.

Either that or the FBI is much much dumber than I give them credit for.

I'm sorry Leo - it wasnt meant for you to be Angry or Embarrassed for very long - and I hope LOL isn't too far off.

The key words are "for very long" - isnt that what a prank is all about?
In my family we are nuts about practical jokes. The worse the better.

I once put an add in the local newspaper the day after my brother in-laws birthday, stating this:

Urgent Message!
As my birthday yesterday was quite dissapointing,
all greetings and gifts will still  be recieved
with outmost gratitude.

Signed with name, address and phonenumber.

I can tell you, he was busy for more than a week answering calls, recieving packets and cards of a dubious nature.
Then he attacked the whole family to find out who did this - and noone would admit, but finally he came to the conclusion my brother did it.LOL

A week before my brothers vacation to France, my brother in-law pulled out his revenge, placing a new add in the same paper:

Pet Pension
All pet-animals are recieved in pension during your vacation.
Keep you pet secure with us in rural surroundings.
Fair pricing.

Signed with my brothers name, address and phonenumber

A hard time for my brother, but he did manage to get to France.

A few months back, my neighbor pulled another joke on me - hillarious - and I'm still thinking of sweet revenge - any ideas??

We once wrote down a fake posting order when I was in the NCC (national Cadet Corps) for one of the officers we did not like. And it had him going to Siachin! For those who don't know Siachin is the worlds highest battlefield at 25,000 feet.

LOL I am so glad I was not here yesterday... I would have made such a fool of myself...

Although there being nothing about it in the modsforum should have been a hint...

The Officer in charge was pretty resonable about it. He gave us a dressing down and told the other  to "grow up".

I see one of three scenarioes coming up...

1. He will realise its an Aprils fool prank and have a good laugh.

2. He will hire you into MI5 - he will think you are the best informed spy in England.

3. Scotland Yard will come knocking at your door - and not for 5 o'clock tea.

Ad. 3  Dont worry - give them my address, I'll look forward to a few days in the dungeons of London's famous Tower Wink

Seriously - I'm sorry if it brings you trouble.
