How about some pics of ferry boats in your area. I live inland so we don't have them but here are some from our west coast.

I have taken ferries in other parts of the USA including across the Mississippi River. I have also taken ferries in England, Scotland, Greece, Turkiye and Wales to Ireland but I did not post these because do not live there. Our west coast is not far from me

Sorry not every pic is a ferry but that's where the ferries go.

The Swedish Road Administration has a Ferry division which have some forty odd short lines, and their yellow ferries are the most commonly seen here. Someone calculated, that in terms of passengers they are the sixth or seventh largest passenger shipowner in the world.

Then you have the large ferries to Finland, Estonia, Poland and the rest of the Baltics. They're often all referred to as Finland ferries, since they only used to go to Finland.

Here's a few entering through Oxdjupet, the entrance to the inner part of the Stockholm archipelago and the capital itself (parts of the fortifications hidden behind the trees can be seen).

They are still tiny little flies compared to the Norwegians' new cruise ships (not ferries though).

Last November I was on the Olympic peninsula on the Washington State side watching the ferries go to Victoria up the Strait of Juan de Fuca.    I love BC and now that I live in the Arizona southwest I will miss her.   The ferry pics in Sweden look nice and I almost took the long ferry from England to Sweden but I could not get in contact with my friends in Sweden so I did not go.

Anyone from Greece and Turkey please join us with pictures of ferries there. I have my own pictures but I stated ferries in your region so I will not post them.

The closet ferry to me in S. Arizona would be the tiny boat that crosses the Colorado River on the Arizona-California border. They also have the London Bridge there.

These aren't really historical pictures, and I'm wondering if the thread might have a more appropriate home elsewhere. But, until then, here is Kingston's local ferry to Wolf Island, passing the Martello Tower of Fort Frederick and the Royal Military College. Part of Fort Henry can be seen at the top left.

Hey about anyone in Greece or Turkey putting pics up about their ferry boats!!!

I have taken ferries in both countries but I do not live there so it is up to those who live there. I loved the way the Greek ferries came close to shore and quickly turned about to unload. The Biggest ferry I have ever taken was from Greece to Italy.

I have always wanted to take this ferry from Washington State or Seattle to Alaska our last frontier.

I call this God's country!! Most of the trip passes the coast of BC Canada which is mostly wilderness. I might go here instead of Europe for my next long trip.
