Well, Turkic is not like Indo - European, u should have known this buddy.
We both come from Huns, and we both have same roots if we go back as far as 2000 years. I am an Azeri Turk, and 2 month is enough for me to live in Mongolstan and learn their language perfectly, without an accent.
Let Nepalese come Ireland and learn theirs in 1 year with accent - they can't

No, Turkish people don't come from Huns, nor the mongols. Turkish are from Kayi of Oghuzs and mongols come from a homeland which is nearby the homeland of the ancestors of Huns...
Yes, you can learn their language because it is nearly same as the language of the ancient Turks and because the Turkic tribes were the neighbour of Xiongnu tribe which are the ancestors of the mongols... |

No, Kayi are a branch(boy) of the Oghuz Turk confederation, the Ottomans were Kayi, Selcuk were Kinik, Karamanogullu were Salur and so on. Then there are the Kirim/Nogay/Astrakan are Kipchak Turks.
Huns were Turkic speaking according to sources, Xiongnu Huns were made up of many Turkic tribes.

Kerimoglu,
Thank you, but I do know that Turkic is not Indo-European. Note that I was only trying to explain that two languages within a language family do NOT make for close cultural ties. That is, the differences between the Irish and the Nepali are the same as the differences between a Turk from Turkey and a Mongol.

You're exactly right !
Mongols belong to Mongoloid race, close cousins in respective order are Tungusic peoples & Koreans & northern Han-Chinese.
I say Caucasoid-looking Central-Asia Turkic people are real cousins of Turks.

This thread is about Turks in a meaning "Turkic" not in a meaning "Turkish" from the Republic of Turkey.
There are many Mongoloid groups among Turks as well and some of them actually share the same generic ancestry with Mongols.
